About Natalie Cherrix, LCSW-C
Hi, I’m Natalie.
My interest in understanding and helping people began long before my formal training and education. As a teenager, I would spend hours reading used psychology and sociology books I found in local thrift stores — many of which still sit on my bookshelf today. I’ve always been fascinated by the mind, human behavior, and the unique stories people carry with them.
I was also deeply influenced by a family member who created grassroots programs for underprivileged children. Being involved in those efforts at a young age helped shape my passion for supporting others and creating meaningful human connection. Today, I bring that same curiosity, compassion, and dedication into my work as a therapist.
I started my private practice in 2010 and have been a therapist for over 20 years. I received a Master of Social Work degree from Delaware State University and I'm a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C) in the state of Maryland. I specialize in providing evidence-based therapy for adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, specific phobias, Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. As a professional member of the International OCD Foundation, I continually advance my skills and training to benefit the clients I love to work with.
Outside of therapy sessions, I’m a wife, mother, and lover of reading, music, indoor plants (but don’t always have a green thumb), stand up comedy, and iced mocha lattes! I’m human first and strive to bring that humility to my work with clients who are also just making their way through our complex world.
